Discoveryland is a retro-science-fiction themed land inspired by the explorers such as Leonardo da Vinci and Jules Verne. The focal piece of this adventurous land is the Orbitron, which has a central axis resembling a 19th century planetarium. Since its opening in 1992, this “spinner” type attraction has been featured at all five Disney parks around the world and was later renamed the Astro Orbiters.
