Andrea attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California and graduated with honors in 1986. His formative education began as a child growing up in Rome—drawing, painting, and sculpting—under the tutelage of his father Aldo Favilli, a noted fine arts sculptor and motion picture art director at Cinecittà Studios.
Andrea was recruited by Martin Sklar to work at Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) as a lead concept designer. At WDI, he had the good fortune to work alongside various legendary Disney artists, including Ken Anderson and Claude Coats; and was mentored by the venerable Herb D. Ryman and master show producer Robert Jani, who helped shape his philosophy of creativity, storytelling, design and showmanship. During his time there, he contributed to projects around the world including Disneyland, The Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Typhoon Lagoon, the Walt Disney Studios, Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland.
In 1992 Andrea established Favilli Studio (FS) and continued to expand his range of experience as a thought igniter, speaker, creative and innovation strategist, and chief creative officer for projects in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Notable clients include: The Walt Disney Company, Walt Disney Imagineering, Israel’s Arbel By The Sea, Outrigger Hotels & Resorts, D23, Roy E. Disney, Shamrock Holdings, WATG, Rosewood Resorts & Hotels, Klaus Schwab/The World Economic Forum, Gensler, Sol Kerzner / Sun International, The Sands Group/Venetian, The Transpacific Yacht Race, The City of Burbank, The Disney Channel, The Jack Morton Company, Universal Creative, Bass Pro Shops, Mercury One, Cinecitta Studios, Snowbird, Dragon Holdings Tourism Limited, Jinhu Yao Cultural Park, Wanda, Chunguang Group’s Dream World Resort, Zhonghong Holdings and Journey To The West—Huai’an.
The fuel for Andrea’s creativity is his love of the outdoors, ultra-running and adventure, which has taken up many mountains on five continents and spurred him on a quest to climb the Seven Summits. He has summited five to date in Africa, Russia, South America, North America, and Antarctica.
